Efficiency of coated photovoltaic panels
Photovoltaic panels are expected to perform with nearly unchanged
efficiency for over twenty years. However, their lifetime is often
limited by a loss of efficiency due to opacization phenomena of the
protective glass panel, caused by weathering and biofilm formation.
Within ADGLASS we will test our newly developed high-perfomance
coating materials
in prototype photovoltaic panels installed in representative outdoor
locations. In our long-term experiments both the high
cohesive properties
and the anti-adherent properties
of the novel materials are designed to lead to an improved performance
over the whole lifetime of the products.
